Message from Pastor Doug

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ!

It is a joy to welcome you to Christ United Methodist Church of Locke and Moravia! Whether you are visiting for the first time, searching for a church home, or simply exploring faith, we are grateful you are here.

Ours is a smaller, close-knit congregation where people come to know one another and walk together in faith. We worship in the Methodist heritage, shaped by a tradition that proclaims God’s grace freely offered to all, calls us to holiness, and invites every person into a living relationship with Christ.

Our worship is traditional, grounded in Scripture, prayer, Word and Table, and the historic practices of the Church. As we gather each week in prayer and song, we are drawn into the life of God and formed as the people of Christ for the sake of the world. As the United Methodist Book of Worship reminds us, “Our worship in both its diversity and its unity is an encounter with the living God through the risen Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Music is an important part of our life together. Through our music ministry and choir, voices are joined in praise, offering worship that is both heartfelt and reverent.

Faith among us does not end with Sunday worship. It is lived out through service and fellowship—supporting local outreach through the thrift store, sharing in ministry and fellowshipping with other churches, caring for children through our Rock Solid after-school program and Vacation Bible School, and supporting missions beyond our community. Along the way, we encourage one another in prayer, share in one another’s lives, and grow together as the body of Christ.

Above all, we seek to love God and one another, and to serve the world with the love of Christ. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome to come as you are and worship God with us.

We would be honored to worship with you!

In Christ,

Pastor Douglas Childress
